Meet Ally Isom

Director of Institutional Messaging, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

A professional passionate about making a difference, Ally Isom is the Director of Institutional Messaging for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a global faith with more than 16 million members. Her portfolio includes enterprise identity strategy and messaging for diverse administrative, humanitarian and ministerial organizations. She has also been an LDS Church spokesperson.

Ally is a community leader and expert where policy, communication, and public engagement intersect. She previously served as Utah Governor Gary Herbert’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Communications Director and spokesperson, following several years in state agency administration and extensive experience as a political and campaign consultant. With an inclusive and affirming leadership style, Ally is uniquely skilled at fostering gender intelligent teams and building capacity in future leaders.

Highlights from her civic involvement include service as a Kaysville City Councilmember, the Utah Clean Air Partnership Board, the Women’s Leadership Institute executive board, and the Utah Heritage Council. Ally received her Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University. She and her husband have four children, one grandchild, and two not entirely bright labradors. When she finds free time, Ally enjoys historical fiction, preferably on a beach, and mole poblano, pretty much anywhere.
