Davis Smith is the founder and CEO of Cotopaxi, an outdoor gear brand with a humanitarian mission. Smith is a serial entrepreneur who previously started Baby.com.br, Brazil’s Startup of the Year in 2012, and PoolTables.com, the largest retailer of pool tables in the US.
Davis was Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s CEO of the Year in 2016 and is a member of the eight-person United Nations Foundation’s Global Entrepreneurs Council. Smith’s business, Cotopaxi, was recently named the #1 Best Place to Work in Utah out of 3,898 companies.
Davis holds an MBA from the Wharton School, an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Brigham Young University. Davis is a Fellow of the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies.
Davis is an adventurer who has floated down the Amazon on a self-made raft, survived on uninhabited islands in the tropics, kayaked from Cuba to Florida, and explored North Korea. Davis is married to Asialene Smith and they have three children.
