Saprea is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity whose mission is  to liberate individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts. Through retreats, support groups, education and online resources, Saprea seeks to offer hope and help to those who have been impacted.

As a current ElevateHER Challenge Company, we seek to support the work of Saprea and realize that trauma relates to how, where and when women are able to show up in the workplace.

The goal of the Safe Child Project is to expand child abuse prevention education in Utah—a significant and necessary step in keeping our children safe and allowing them to reach their full potential. When one in seven of our children is being deeply harmed both physically and emotionally by childhood sexual abuse, it is our duty to act.

As founder of the Policy Project, Emily Belll McCormick is also a valued WLI Board member.  We are pleased to introduce our alumni to this project.

The Impact of Trauma on Organizational Culture

For decades, workplace trauma has been associated with people working in professions like the military, firefighting, policing, and first-response.

Yet recent research shows that trauma is widespread among employees beyond these high-risk/high-stress jobs and can impact workers in any industry for a multitude of reasons that often go overlooked or ignored. This has to change.

A recent World Health Organization (WHO) study found that 70 percent of people across 24 countries have experienced traumas, with an average of 3.2 traumatic events over the course of a lifetime.   –  Forbes, 2021
