Due to popular demand, the Career Development Series is expanding. In addition to our rural cohorts, the 2026 cohort will feature two in-person CDS tracks: a Salt Lake County track and a Utah County track. The tracks will combine for our most popular speakers, like Gail Miller and Utah’s female Supreme Court Justices. The curriculum for each track will be consistent.

What Other Graduates Are Saying

“The Career Development Series was like an executive leadership course designed especially for women. It included valuable skills training along with balanced but factual information about the career landscape for women in Utah. This is a ‘must’ series for those seeking to improve in their careers.”

Shelley Goodell

Vice President of E-Commerce and Guest Services, Megaplex Theatres

“As a young Latina, daughter of immigrants, second generation Utahn, and emerging professional, I found hope that women like me can find opportunities in Utah. I feel especially inspired and motivated by the content provided by the invited companies [and presenters], particularly “Defining Your Career” exercise with Instructure, learning about crisis management, and how to shift your paradigm with FranklinCovey. These were very powerful dialogues. I can’t wait to keep learning…My future already feels full and optimistic.

Marlen Olmedo Estrada

Legislative Assistant, Utah State Senate

What happens if I miss a live session?

Will recordings be available?

One of the tracks will be recorded. And those recordings will be available to both tracks.

Are scholarships available?

Currently, scholarships are not available But this program qualifies for Custom Fit.

Custom Fit is used to train a company’s current employees (incumbent workers).

For-profit companies (not-for-profit companies with special approval for significant economic impact) located in Utah are eligible for Custom Fit.

Institutions may consider regional priorities for Custom Fit use, such as retention of existing companies, assistance for new or expanding companies, industry sectors with particular importance to the region or state, and equitable access for diverse businesses and workers.

Custom Fit pays for the training cost, and the company contributes at least 40%, depending on regional funding availability and priorities.
