Meet Don Willie
Director of Operations, The PointDon Willie is a seasoned executive with extensive experience leading transformational change across both public and private sector organizations.
He currently serves as the Director of Operations for The Point of the Mountain State Land Authority, where he oversees internal operations and external relations for Utah’s most anticipated 600-acre infill development in Draper.
Before transitioning back to the public sector, Don was the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Marketing at the South Valley Chamber of Commerce. In this role, he worked to elevate the chamber’s brand and enhance its community impact.
Don also served as the turnaround President & CEO of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce. He revitalized the organization’s mission, purpose, and brand, driving significant growth in investment, membership, and activity. Under his leadership, the chamber achieved unprecedented engagement and influence within the business and broader community.
Don has also held key positions as the founding Executive Director of the Atwood Innovation Plaza and Zions Bank Business Resource Center at Utah Tech University and as the Managing Director of the Utah World Trade Center. Through these roles, he has supported hundreds of small businesses in launching and scaling their operations locally and globally.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Don and his wife are entrepreneurs, owning The Love Utah Box, a curated gift box featuring Utah-made products. Don is also a public relations and political strategy consultant and has founded multiple nonprofit organizations and initiatives addressing critical community needs.
Don actively contributes to his community by serving on several private and nonprofit boards, including Altabank, Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, Women’s Leadership Institute, Envision Utah, Neighborhood Connection, Canyons Education Foundation, and the Utah Commission on Service and Volunteerism, among others.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on International Management, both from the University of Utah.
Together, he and his wife, Jennifer, are the proud parents of four active children.
